About Pastor Dave

dave-b_blogI am the Lead Pastor of Des Moines First Assembly in Des Moines, IA. Graduating from Northwest University, I entered full-time, vocational ministry, serving as a youth pastor in the state of Washington for more than a decade and the senior pastor in Montana for 10 years  before landing in Iowa. I have four passions: strengthening my relationship with Christ, spending time with my family, golf and extreme body workouts (FXB). I like dates with my wife, Elli, and loving on my grandchildren, Lukis, Dylan and Karli. If I had to pick a foursome for a golf game, with would choose Fred Couples and my twin sons, Levi and Matt. But when Lukis is old enough to play, Fred Couples will have to retire.

When you stop by the church, you might catch me brewing a good cup of coffee or teaching someone new golf techniques to improve their game. My calling is coaching people to overcome their obstacles and to discover God’s truth for their lives, teaching life principles from God’s Word and leading a team of people to accomplish His will.

I like long walks at sunset with my wife and golfing 36 holes in a day and the mountains in Montana. I dislike long, cold winters.
