What Do Students Remember

It’s been said that certain life experiences help connect human relationships more than others.

For example, get a group together for a sing-along, ie. a concert, and you’ve created a moment.

Gather a few others to study a particular book or passage of scripture, and now you’re beginning to go deeper.

Playing a sport, organized or informal, can certainly build memories that will last a lifetime . . . ask the guy who won his senior homecoming game in overtime.

The aforementioned all help bond people together, but there are two other experiences that rank above all others. They are serving together and suffering together.

While that may not sound particularly fun, knowing that, together, you have done something significant for God and others brings incomparable rewards!

We are offering your student a serving opportunity that will forever impact their lives as we participate in one of the largest outpouring of God’s compassion this city has ever seen.  On November 11-12, our annual fall youth convention will be serving in the Convoy of Hope Outreach and our students will be there on the front lines. Click here to watch a brief commercial to see the ways we plan to share the love of Christ here through Convoy of Hope.

If you wish your young person to be eternally changed, invest the time & resources in this significant weekend and make a difference in our city.  Early bird cost of $75 is due October 16.  Cost includes convention registration, one night stay @ Quality Inn & Suites, hot breakfast at the hotel & transportation.  Pick up your registration flyer or download at www.desmoinesfirst.org/students.  Interesting in participating as an adult chaperone, contact Linda Coop @ lcoop@desmoinesfirst.org.  See you there!
